Carlton “Butch’ Loewe, 78, Township of Emery, died on Tuesday, August 14, 2012, at the St. Joseph’s Hospital, Marshfield. He was born on July 24, 1934, in Stockbridge, Wi., the son of Roland and Evelyn (Olson) Loewe. He spent his early life and schooling in Stockbridge. He was employed on the family farm until he purchased it from his family in 1958. He was married to Anna Mae Sontag on August 21, 1952 in Stockbridge. she preceded him in death on Oct.11, 2006. They made their home in Stockbridge until 1975 when the moved to the Township of Emery. He was employed at various local businesses including Flambeau Papers, Cayuga Industries, Biewer Sawmill and the by the City of Phillips prior to his retirement.
In his free time he was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing and household projects.
He is survived by 4 sons: Loren James (Connie) Loewe, Stockbridge, Wi., Roland and Allen (Jody) Loewe, all of Phillips, Thomas “Sumo” (Jessica) Loewe, Pike Lake, Wi., by 2 daughters: Teresa (Bill) Hertlein, Phillips, and Dawn Marie (Kelly) Spatz, Wausau, by 10 grandchildren, and 11great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, by his wife Anne, by 2 sisters Arlene Perleberg and Jeanette Propson, by 2 brothers: infant Frederick and Kenneth.
A gathering of close friends and family will be held in memory of Carlton Loewe at the Emery Town Hall on Friday, August 31, 2012, from 3:00 to 6;00 p.m.
The Inurnment will be in the Lakeside Cemetery, Phillips.
The Heindl Funeral Home, Phillips, is in charge of the arrangements.
