GOOD BYE APRIL
altText
Yeah, April is on it's last day!! Looks like the first week of May will bring above average temps, but a good chance of rain on-and-off. As we turn the page, lets hope for warmer temps. What a trickster Mother Nature is. 5 weeks ago we were spoiled with temps in the mid 70's and even an 80 degree temp here & there. Then winter reappeared..........very little snow, but bitter temps for the start of the high school spring sports season. NOT NICE!!!
On another sports note, the NFL draft has concluded, with most teams thinking they've plugged the holes to make them a contender for the covited Lombardi trophy. I get a laugh at hearing the so-called experts put their twist on each & every pick. Truth of the matter is no one knows how these kids will work out till the season begins. For that matter, for a couple seasons must go by. What these guys did in college is not the same as competing in the NFL. There will certainly be some surprises & disappointments coming up for all NFL teams.

BEEN AWHILE......

Greetings from the plush, beautiful studios of 98Q!!! Hope life is treating you well. Pretty quiet on this end. Seems like the weather just doesn't want to warm up on a full-time basis. The 75-80 degree temps of a month ago sure did fool us. Now we're a couple degrees below normal & are waiting for those constant 60-70 degree temps that are condusive to spring activities.
The Brewers are off & runnin' and it's way too early to make any solid judgements as to how they'll end up. It sure will be a fun summer though, listening to the games on 98Q. I feel the quality of the broadcasts this year has gone down-hill a bit after Corey Provus left for greener pastures in Minnesota, covering the Twins. Bob Ueckers new partner is Joe Block, who doesn't get too excited about anything. Add in Bob's many mistakes and lack of discribing the game, and it leaves you scratching your head many times.
Thanks for filling up 3 buses for our annual trek to beautiful Miller Park, Wednesday, June 20th. If you're one of the over 150 that are locked in, enjoy!!!! It's always a fun-filled day.
Take Care....I'll talk to you on the radio.

Howdy, again and welcome to the Ramblings of DJ Rick. This is going to be short & sweet. A lot has been made about the recent rejected mining project in northern Wisconsin. Republican, Democrat or Independant, or some other political affiliation........LET"S DO THE RIGHT THING, AND GET THIS PROJECT BACK!! Do our politicans realize the trickle down effect this would have in northern Wisconsin??? I think not................Common sense says some folks really struck out on this one :(

After ranting last week about getting in this years 98Q NCAA Pool (which I can't win, even if I did win), several folks told me to "chill out & Relax", and they were correct. This whole pool, which is played by over 100 million americans (no stats, I'm just throwing that out there), is supposed to be a fun thing, and luck is the major part of it. I must have gotten up on the wrong side of the bed that day :(
An hour before the pool deadline, I figured, what the heck, and got in. After being in 6th place going into Sundays games, I've dropped down to 12th. Heaven forbid...Art Dunham is ahead of me!! ART DUNHAM!! Now I REALLY wish I wouldn't have got in this foolish garbage. All I have to say is Joel better not go ahead of me, or I may do something foolish :)
Enjoy the rest of the tournament, and I hope you get lucky. It sure has been fun watching two #15 seeds upset the #2's. Go Marquette and Wisconsin!!!!!!!!!!
