A Sad Day....
Friday morning we lost a longtime friend at 98Q Country. Longtime WNBI/WCQM employee Sandy Dural lost her battle of disease, and is now in a better place. No more suffering for the gal who always had a bright smile on her face. She was a dedicated employee who you loved seeing at work or around town. Many locals still think of Sandy when WCQM is mentioned! And the thousands of hours she dedicated to our great city will never be forgotten. Coined "The Pie Lady" by former station manager Mike Rockwell, Sandy had a passion for all she did. It's always easy to say nice things about someone after they've passed on, but everything you hear about Sandy is very true. To Bobby & Lori, along with the rest of her family, our thoughts and prayers are with you during this very tough time.
Sandy will always be a part of our 98Q Country family.

Well, the Pack survived week 1 of the playoffs. They beat a Viking team that truely over-achieved (man, does that hurt to say that) a year after only winning 3 games last year. Give them and their MVP Adrian Peterson a ton of credit, but now it's time to move on and beat the 49ers. Hopefully revenge will be on the Packers minds as they try to avenge a 30-22 loss in week 1 of the season. I remember after they beat us, thinking "This team is very, very good", and wondered if they'd lose any games!! But as the season wore on, they had their share of bumps in the road. They are beatable, however the Packers must play a great game.
And what's up with this weather? I feel sorry for you snowmobilers who are waiting patiently for a significant snowfall. As I look at the extended forecast, all I have to say is good luck with that!!

Hope ya'll had a great Christmas and New Years celebration. I had a super Christmas....very quiet and nice. And I think you can tell a persons age by the time they go to bed new years eve!! I remember growing up in my early 20's. It was "Party till ya got sick"!! Now, it's "enjoy a nice meal, have a drink, and get ready to hit the hay". For 22 years, age 28-50, I worked the big night ringing in a new year with my mobile dj business. It was great fun and good money, but I would never be able to do it now. Heck, I can hardly stay up for the BIG Ball drop in Times Square at 11PM. Am I getting older? I think so...... Happy 2013...Hopefully its a great one for all.
