Donal D. Zoesch, 82, Town of Elk, Phillips



 
Donald D. Zoesch, 81, Town of Elk, Phillips, formerly of Delafield,
WI, died at his home on Sunday, April 13, while under the care of his
family and Flambeau Home Health and Hospice.  He was born in Butternut,
Wisconsin, on February 23, 1933, the son of Delbert and Ann Zoesch.  He
attended Pius High School, Marquette University, Milwaukee School of
Engineering, and the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee.  He was united
in marriage to Marjorie E. Thorsen on August 18, 1956, by her brother,
Rev. Robert Thorsen.  He served his country in the US Navy for 2 years,
and served in the Naval Reserves for 4 years.  He was employed by
Milwaukee Stove & Furnace Supply Corp for 35 years in Sales.
     His family was awarded "Family of the Month" by the Knights of
Columbus Nov. 2003, June 2007, and June 2012.  He served as Director of
the Delafield Curling Club and was a member for 25 years, his team won 5
Wisconsin State Championships in Men's & Mixed Curling, and the National
US Senior Men's Curling Championship in 1994.  He was a member of the
Lane Kreiling American Legion Post No. 122 of Phillips, he participated
in the Annual Salvation Army bell ringing fundraisers, he managed and
coached Little League baseball for 3 years, was a member of the Lake
Nagawicka Improvement Committee, served on the Delafield Fire and Police
Department Advisory Committee, served as an Usher and Greeter at St.
Therese of Lisieux Catholic Church, and served as Team Leader to raise
funds for the new worship center at St. Therese.  His outdoor activities
revolved around golf, fishing, and hunting -he came home with a deer
almost every season.
     He is survived by his wife, Marjorie; by three children, Dawn
(Marty) Boulanger, David (Denise) Zoesch, and Dyan (Dennis) Piller; by
five grandchildren, Natalie and Connor Zoesch, David, Danielle, and
Danae Piller; by one sister, Shirley A. Boudousquie, and by one niece,
Hollie Kwak.  He is preceded in death by one son, Dean
     Memorial services will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Wednesday, April16,
at St. Therese of Lisieux Catholic Church in Phillips with Father Gerald
Hagen celebrating the Funeral Mass.  Inurnment will be in the St.
Patrick Cemetery in Phillips.  Friends may call at the church on
Wednesday from 9:30 A.M. until the time of services.  The family
requests that memorials take the form of an offering to
