Donald Jerome Ellis, 67, Catawba, died at his home on Wednesday, November 6, while under the care of his family and Hope Hospice and Palliative Care. He was born in Shelton, Washington, on July 11, 1946, the son of Garold and Emily (Sykora) Ellis. He attended Phillips High School. He was married to Mary Kempen on July 31, 1965, and they celebrated 48 years of marriage. He retired after 41 years as a Master Electrician at Blount/Caterpillar Forest Products of Prentice, Wisconsin. He enjoyed spending time with family and visiting with friends. He loved camping, fishing, and traveling to new places.
He is survived by his wife, Mary; by his four children, Francine (Richard) Nordrum, Michael (Laura), Pauline (Matthew) Bristol, and Colleen (Gregg) Johnson; by five grandchildren, Victoria Ellis, Samantha Johnson, Maverick Bristol, Elizabeth Bristol, and Nolan Nordrum; by two brothers, Gary (Sally) and David (Donna); and by one sister, Becky (Dana) Olsen. He is preceded in death by one sister, Nancy Runnheim.
Memorial services will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Saturday, November 16, at St. Paul The Apostle Catholic Church in Catawba with Father Gerald Hagen celebrating the Funeral Mass. Friends may call at the church on Saturday from 9:00 A.M. until the time of services.
