Eva T, Thieme, 94, Phillips
Eva T. Thieme, 94, died on Monday, February 10, 2014, shortly after her 94th birthday at Evergreen Park, in Wausau. She was born on February 3, 1920, along with a twin sister Iva to Monroe and Louise (Otzenberger) Talley in Rio, La. She attended grade school in Rio and high school in Bogalusa, La. She then moved to Gulfport, Ms. To work and later met John Thieme, whom she married June 13, 1942. After John returned from England, where he served during WW11, the couple moved to Phillips where they raised their five children. Eva worked alongside her husband for many years as owners of the Gambles store and later at their resale store until she retired.
Eva is survived by her children Gary Thieme, Mt. Morris, Mi., Helen (Rick) Geno, Rothschild, Wi., Greg, Phillips, Kate Meissner, Schofield, and Wanda Thieme, Wausau. By 2 brothers: Edgar and Jewel Talley, both of Bogalusa, La., by eight grandchildren, six great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and friends.
Eva was preceded in death by her parents, by her husband John and by her sisters Myrtis and Myrtle Talley, Jerry Talley, Lillian Sinopili, Venice Dobronich and her twin sister Iva Sumrall.
The funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, February 15, 2014, at St. Therese of Lisieux Catholic Church, Phillips, with Fr. Gerald Hagen officiating. Interment will be in the Lakeside Cemetery, Phillips in the spring. Friends may call from 10:00 A.M. on Saturday at the church until the time of the service.
