George “Butch” Hendricks, 66, Phillips, died on Thursday, January 16, 2014, at the Flambeau Hospital, Park Falls. He was born on May 9, 1947, in Stanley, Wi., the son of Edward and Dora (Morris) Hendricks. He spent his most of his life in Wisconsin. He attended and graduated from grade school, and then was a 1966 graduate of Flambeau High School. He served his country in the U.S. Army from 1966 to 1972. He was married to Patti Boho on April 11, 1970, in the former St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Phillips. They celebrated over 43 years of marriage together. Following military service he was employed at various occupations including the former Northern Sash and Door, Hawkins,, Lionite Hardboard Phillips and the Price County Forestry Department until he was forced to retire due to medical problems. He was a member of the Lane-Kreiling American Legion Post #122, Phillips, and the Wisconsin Timberline Hare Beagle Club.
In his free time he enjoyed sketching, hunting, fishing, his beagles spending time with his family and friends especially attending his children and grandchildrens sporting events.
He is survived by his wife Patti, Phillips, by his 4 children: Patti (Allen) Farina, Susan (James) Peterson and Carie (David) Shipley, all of Phillips,
his son George ,Jr. (Tracey) Fairmont, Minn. By 12 grandchildren by his Mother Dora Mae Hendricks,
by 1 brother Dale (Laura) Hendricks all of Gilman, Wi., and by 1 sister: Donna (Ronald) Severson, Hawkins.
He was preceded in death by his father Edward and by 1 sister Virginia Hendricks.
The funeral service will be held at 12:00 Noon on Tuesday, Jan. 21, 2014, at the Heindl Funeral Home, Phillips, with Pastor Terry Sellers officiating. Military Honors will be conducted by the Lane-Kreiling American Legion Post #1222 and the Frank and Michael Baran VFW Post #5778 both of Phillips. Friends may call at the Heindl Funeral Home
