Katherine P. Schmidt age 102 died Monday June 23, 2012 at the Park Manor Nursing Home in Park Falls, WI. She was born April 25, 1910 in Butternut, WI the daughter of Frank & Anna (Keilmeier) Ernst. Katherine married Arthur J. Schmidt on September 5, 1931 and together they owned and operated Art Schmidt's Musky Camp on the Flambeau Turtle Flowage until 1945. They then moved to Park Falls, WI were Art established a successful real estate business while Kate raised their two boys, Artie and Jim. Art preceded her in death in November 1974 and she resided in Park Falls the rest of her life. Katie will always be remembered for her happy, fun-loving spirit and how she enjoyed dancing polka's even into her 80s.
 
She is survived by;

                        James J. (Patricia) Schmidt of Rock Island, IL
(8)Grandchildren- Greg Schmidt of Madison,WI, Kelly Farley of Milwaukee, WI, Cindy Schmidt of Tucson, AZ, Chris Schmidt of South Carolina, Pat Schmidt of Merrill, WI, Tom Schmidt, Mike Schmidt and Lori Pritzl all of Park Falls, WI

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Art in 1974, (3) sisters Mary, Ann and Grace and (2) brothers Henry and Frank.
 
Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday July 25, 2012 at 10:00 a. m. from the Novitzke Funeral Home Chapel in Park Falls, WI with Deacon Chet Ball officiating. Burial will follow at the Nola Cemetery in Park Falls, WI.
 
Visitation will be held on Wednesday July 25, 2012 from 9:00 a. m. until the hour of service at the Novitzke Funeral Home in Park Falls, WI.
