Lauren Richard Hulce, 84, Prentice, died in the American Heritage Center in Hammond, Wisconsin, on Sunday, November 10, 2013. He was born in Tomahawk, Wisconsin, on June 30, 1929, the son of Lawrence and Wilma (Manthey) Hulce. He served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War for four years, 15 months of that time in Korea. In his working career he had been employed by Natural Gas Conversion Company in the Eastern United States, by Solar Industries of Tomahawk, by Marquip of Phillips, and by Omark Industries of Prentice. He was married to Audrey Steinbach on August 25, 1956, in Tomahawk, WI, and she preceded him in death on January 8, 1989. He was married to Doretta Klug in Prentice on April 25, 1992, and she preceded him in death on February 3, 2009. He was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church of Prentice, the Southern Price County VFW Post No. 8491, and of the Tomahawk American Legion Post. In his free time as a young man he enjoyed hunting, fishing, coin collecting, and fixing things. In later years he enjoyed his pets, his dog Bubbles, and his cats Sally, Pumpkin, Baby, and Cisco.
Hi is survived by his daughter Debra Hulce, Prentice; by one step-daughter, Karen (Victor) Fahl, Ogema; by two grandchildren, Jeremy and Jason; by step grandchildren and by great grandchildren; by one brother,Gerald (Faith), Green Bay, WI; by one sister, Janet Berger, Pardeeville, WI; and by numerous nieces and nephews. H is preceded in death by his wives; by two infant children; and by one brother, Darwin.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Friday, November 15, at the Heindl Funeral Home in Prentice with Rev. Hunter Hofmann officiating. Military honors will be conducted by the Southern Price County VFW Post No. 8491. Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday from 12:00 Noon until the time of services. Interment will be in the Greenwood Cemetery in Tomahawk.
