Leroy Eugene Robertson, 85, Town of Ogema, died in the Wausau Aspirus Hospital in Wausau on Saturday, December 14, 2013. He was born in Council Bluffs, Iowa, on March 7, 1928, the son of Howard and Paula (Chase) Robertson. He served his country in the U.S. Navy during WWII in the Pacific Theater of Action. He was married to Dorothy Irene Clark in Prentice on February 23, 1963. He and Dorothy operated a dairy farm in the Town of Ogema. In addition to farming he logged, was employed by Omark Industries of Prentice, Glasstron in Tomahawk, NORCO in Hawkins, Hurd and Weather Shield. In his free time he enjoyed trapping, working with his dogs, gardening, hunting, and fishing. He is survived by six children, Susan Irene (Charles) Schantner, Prentice, Howard Paul (Lori Prevedel), Ogema, Colleen Marie (Johnny) Whorton, McCloud, OK, Bernard William, Pekin, IL, Daniel Henry (Lily), Yorktown, CA, and Wayne Leroy (Kathleen), Catawba; by 16 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren; and by nieces and nephews, including Wayne Robertson, Bridgeport, IL, and Edward Robertson, Oak Lawn, IL. He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy, on February 16, 2008; by five brothers, Howard, Walter, Edward, Bernard, and William; and by one sister, Margarite Jedryjas.
A celebration of life will take place at 2:00 P.M. on Sunday, May 25. at the Heindl Funeral Home in Prentice with Pastor Richard Hall officiating. Friends may call at the funeral Home from 1:00 P.M. until the time of services. Inurnment will be in the Mt. Olive Cemetery in Westboro at a later date.
