William Frank Walasek, age 60, of Park Falls, died suddenly on Tuesday May 22, 2012 at Flambeau Hospital in Park Falls. He was born on May 11, 1952 in Escondido, CA, the son of Charles and Lila (Gustafson) Walasek. His early life and schooling were in Park Falls. On September 10, 1988 he married Joyce Altman. The couple lived in DeSoto Missouri and Williamsville, IL before returning to Park Falls in 2003. Bill worked for the Flambeau Paper Mill in Park Falls for 20 years both on the floor and in sales before working for Cross Point Papers when he was transferred to Missouri. He then worked for Capital City Paper in Illinois before he returned to Park Falls where he owned and operated Legacy Distribution. He was assistant coach for the Park Falls and Chequamegon Girls Softball teams for seven seasons and was active with the Peace Lutheran Church Choir. Bill was an avid fly fisherman, loved hunting, watching sports, weekend walking through the woods with his wife, and spending time with his family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father and his niece Samantha Sattler.
A memorial service will be held on Monday May 28, 2012 at 11:00am from Peace Lutheran Church in Park Falls. Rev. Dale Heinlein will officiate.
A gathering of family and friends will be held at the church on Monday from 9:00am until the hour of the service.
Private interment will take place at a later date.
The Novitzke Funeral Home is assisting the family.
