Albert Morris Dering, 94, Prentice, died in the Aspirus Pleasant View Nursing Home in Phillips on Saturday, May 19, 2012. He was born in Prentice, Wisconsin, on June 1, 1917, the son of John and Mary (Hunziker) Dering. He was a 1935 graduate of the Prentice High School. He was married to Neadria Rice on November 13, 1943, in Phillips. He farmed, drove school bus, worked for Prentice CO-OP Supply, worked in Public Relations for diaries, and after he semi-retired in 1975, owned and operated a cheese resale business. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Prentice where he served as usher and Trustee. He served on the Organizational Board for Camp Forest Springs, served as Clerk for the Town of Prentice for 12 years, and on the Prentice Board of Education for 21 years. In his free time he enjoyed fishing and hunting, and travel with Neadria.
He is survived by Neadria, his wife of 68 years; by four children, Gilbert (Charlene), Wausau, Dee (Jim) Hintz, Fifield, Rodney (Mary), Wausau, and Mary Dering, Phillips; by 11 grandchildren, and by 12 great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by brothers Charles, Clarence, Louis, and infant brother John, and in 1912 by five brothers and sisters who died in a fire at their home, Margaret, Esther, Grace, Lawrence, and Harry.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Wednesday, May 23, at the First Baptist Church in Prentice with Pastor Ralph C. Miller officiating. Interment will be in the Prentice Cemetery in Prentice. Friends may call at the church on Wednesday from 10:00 A.M. until the time of services.
