98Q Country has a long and storied history . Recently, Park Falls Automotive owner, John Baurenfiend came acroos some tapes of actual on air "Northwood Polka Jamboree" shows from 1986-88 as aired on WNBI/WNBI-FM as the station was known as then.
On these recordings you'll hear the host DJ Rick (Rick Frischmann) pump out all the old polkas and waltzes. The shows open and close are done by the station manager Mike Rockwell. Jeske Drug of downtown Park Falls was the major sponsor and you'll hear DJ Dick Knapp do their commercials. Also Jack Cowell is on other commercials.
