Leland M. King, 88, Fifield



Leland M. King, 88, Fifield, died on Tuesday morning, July 31, 2012, at the Wisconsin Veterans Home in King. He was born on April 27, 1923, in Valparaiso, Indiana, the son of Roy and Viola (McCormick) King. He spent his early life and schooling in Indiana. He then served his country during WW2 in the U.S. Army. He was in 5 major battles in the European Theatre on Action. He was married to Marjorie J. Morauski on May 13, 1950, in Port Washington, Wis. He then re enlisted in the US. Navy during the Korean Conflict
As a Naval Security Officer. Following military service they made their home in Port Washington, where he was employed by the A.O. Smith Corp., for almost 30 years prior to his retirement in 1981. Following their retirement they made their home in the Township of Fifield He was a member of Peace Lutheran Church, Park Falls and a member of the VFW and American Legion Posts of Port Washington.
In his free time he enjoyed watching older western and character movies.
He is survived by his wife Marjorie, Fifield, by 2 sons: Gary, Cobuck, Alaska, and Doug (special friend Janice) Fredonia, Wis., by 1 daughter: Rochelle King, Fon Du lac, Wis.
By 3 grandchildren 3 great grandchildren, 1 half brother: Frank (Melita) Lueder, Hawaii, and by 2 half sisters: Kay (Jerry) Thelen, West Bend, Wis. and Loretta King, South Bend, Ind.
He was preceded in death by his parents, by 3 brothers and by 1 son Randy King.
Per Mr. King’s request their will be no service at this time.
Inurnment will in the Union Cemetery, Port Washington, Wis., at a later date.
The Heindl Funeral Home, Phillips, is in charge of the arrangements.
