Jacqueline "Jackie" C. Black, 83, Phillips



Jacqueline “Jackie” C. Black, 83, Phillips, died on Friday, September 14, 2012, at the Aspirus Pleasant View Nursing Home, Phillips. She was born on August 13, 1929, in Phillips, the daughter of Edwin “Watso” and Lillian Rose (Bloom) Peterson. She spent her early life and schooling in Phillips. She was a graduate of Phillips High School, Class of 1947. Following high school she was employed at various employers including Abbots Medicine, Waukegan, Ill. and the, Federal Ammunitions Plant in New Brighton, Minn.,
prior to her marriage. , She was married to Orvil G. Black on April 23, 1960, in Phillips. Following their marriage they made their home in the Butternut area where they owned and operated Blackie’s Bar until 1991. He husband Orvill preceded her in death on March 11, 1991. She then made her home in Phillips in the fall of 1961. In her free time she enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, crafting, cooking and had a special affection for her animals
She is survived by 1 Step Daughter: Linda (Terry) Kniskern, by 1 Step Grandson Terry “T.J.” Kniskern, and 3 Step Great Grandchildren: Adam, Alexis, and Haylee Kniskern, all of Stillwater, Minn., by 2 aunts: Evelyn Bloom (Donald) Klein and Ann Bloom, ,and by a close friend Laurie Zondlo all of Phillips.
She was preceded in death by her husband Orvil, and by her parents.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Wednesday, September 19, 2012, at St. Therese of Lesieux Catholic Church, Phillips, with Fr. Gerald Hagen officiating. Inurnment will be in St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Phillips. Friends may call from 10:00 A.M. on Wednesday at the church until the time of the service.
The Heindl Funeral Home, Phillips, is in charge of the arrangements.
