Edward J. Korporetz, 73, Township of Worcester, died on Saturday October 13, 2012 at his home. He was born on May 28, 1939, in Milwaukee, Wi., the son of Frank and Christine (Trobenter) Korporetz. He spent his early life and schooling in Milwaukee. He then served his country in the U.S. Army from 1956 to 1959 where he was stationed in Germany. He was married to Edith Kopydlowski in Milwaukee on June 24, 1957. They recently celebrated their 55th Wedding Anniversary. Following his return from the military he was employed as a millwright by Appleton Electric until 1980. They made their home as a family in the Township of Worcester in 1980. Locally he was employed by Marquip, Biewer Lumber and Norco-Jeld-Wen Windows prior to his retirement.
In his free time he enjoyed home projects, hunting and fishing.
He was a member of Our Savior Episcopal Church. Lugerville.
He is survived by his wife Edith, Township of Worcester, by 4 children: Thomas (Gail) Richland, Mi., Tammy Korporetz, Merrill, Tod (Brenda) Milwaukee, and Terrence, Catawba, by 9 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, and by 1 sister-in-law Marian Korporetz, Cudahy, Wi.,
He was preceded in death by his parents, by 2 brothers:
Frank, Jr., and Kenneth, by 1 sister Mary Ann “Mickey” and by 1 grandson Jonathon Korporetz
A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, October 17, 2012, at 11:00 A.M . at Our Savior Episcopal Church, Lugerville, with Fr. William Radant officiating. Military honors will be conducted by the Frank and Michael Baran VFW Post #5778 and the Lane-Kreiling American Legion Post #122, both of Phillips. Friends may call from 10:00 A.M. on Wednesday at the church until the time of the service.
A Memorial Fund has been established for Flambeau Home Health Care and Hospice.
