Yvonne L. Norum, 88, Phillips, died on Sunday, November 11, 2012, at the Aspirus Pleasant View Nursing Home, Phillips, while under the care of her family and the Flambeau Home Health Care and Hospice. She was born on April 8, 1924, in Beaver Dam, Wis., the daughter of Ira and Meleta (Mittelstadt) Cunningham. She attended school in Beaver Dam until her family moved to Milwaukee. She then attended and graduated from South Division High School, Milwaukee. She was employed in the Mortgage Loan Accounting Division of Northwestern Mutual Life Insurance Co., Milwaukee until 1972.
She was married to Ernest Norum on November 25, 1972 in Milwaukee. Following their marriage they made their home in Phillips. She was employed by the State Bank of Phillips as a bookkeeper until the time of their retirement, in 1981. After their retirement they made their home in Marshfield. They returned to Phillips to be near family in 2000.
She was preceded in death by her husband Ernest on June 19, 2010.
She was a member of Christ Lutheran Church while living in Marshfield and St. John Lutheran Church, Phillips while residing in Phillips. In her free time she enjoyed music, photography, genealogy and writing.
She is survived by 2 brothers: Duane (Jennie) Cunningham, Loveland, Colo., and Peter Cunningham, Milwaukee, by 1 sister: Imogene (Rudy) Mozer, Nashotah, Wi., by one nephew and two nieces.
There are no services being planned at this time. A Memorial service will be held at a later date with inurnment in the Lakeside Cemetery, Phillips.
