Iris Brickheimer
age 88, of Butternut, died on Wednesday December 26, 2012 at Flambeau Hospital in Park Falls. She was born on March 29, 1924 in Marshfield, the daughter of Edgar and Cornelia (Minnick) Gorke from the Auburndale area. Her early life and schooling were in Fifield and Marshfield. On January 20, 1945 Iris married Ken Brickheimer in Marshfield. The couple lived in Marshfield until 1958 when the family moved to Butternut and purchased a resort and bar. Several years later, after selling the bar and resort, Iris and Ken converted part of the resort into a campground. They operated the campground until their retirement. Iris was an active member of the Flambeau Hospital Auxiliary for 30 years and volunteered at the Flambeau Hospital Thrift Shop.
She is survived by her husband of 68 years, Ken

Iris was preceded in death by her parents and (3)brothers: Adolph, Alfred, and Elvin.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday December 29, 2012 at 11:00am from Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Butternut. Fr. Shaji Pazhukkathara will officiate.
A gathering of family and friends will be held on Saturday at the church from 10:00am until the hour of the service.
Interment will take place at Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Marshfield at a later date.
