Darlene Marie Lazar, 65, Hawkins, died at her home on Sunday, December 30, 2012.She was born in Prentice, Wisconsin, on January 20, 1947, the daughter of Adolph and Eleanor (Lasee) Makovsky. She was a 1965 graduate of the Phillips High School. She was married to Donald Lazar on October 28, 1967, in Catawba, Wisconsin. She was employed by Phillips Plastics Corporation in Phillips for many years until the time of her retirement. She was a member of St. Mary of Czestochowa Catholic Church of Hawkins. She was devoted to her faith, to her children and her grandchildren. She was a great Elvis fan, and in her free time she enjoyed travel and photography. She is survived by three children, Dawn Damrow, Park Falls, Wayne Lazar, Phillips, and Lynne Lazar, Minneapolis, MN; by five grandchildren, Krystallynne and Teagan Damrow, Kendra and Kelsey Lazar, and Sean Brietzke; by one sister, Delores Sykora, Sioux City, Iowa; by two brothers, James (Bernadine) Makovsky, Prentice, and Gerald (Ruthie) Makovsky, Boixe, Idaho; and by her dog, Casper. She is preceded in death by her parents, Adolph and Eleanor Makovsky.
Funeral services will be held at 12:00 Noon on Saturday, January 5, at St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church in Catawba with Father Gerald Hagen celebrating the Funeral Mass. Interment will be in the Catawba Cemetery in Catawba. Friends may call at St.Paul the Apostle Catholic Church in Catawba after 5:30 P.M. on Friday evening and on Saturday until the time of services. The Parish Wake Service will be held at the church at 7:00 P.M. on Friday evening with Deacon James Celba officiating.
