Frank Hayda, 96, Prentice, died on Friday, April 26, 2013, at the Flambeau Hospital, Park Falls. He was born on December 22, 1916 in the Township of Hackett, the son of Michael and Susan (Payla) Hayda. He spent his entire life in the Price County area. He attended the Whitman School. He was married to Alice Marry Pippenger on April 28, 1962, in Phillips. She preceded him in death on November 20, 2009. He owned and operated a dairy farm and was the assessor for the Township of Hackett for over 50 years. They made their home in Prentice in 1994. He was a member St. John Lutheran Church, Phillips, and the State of Wisconsin and the Indianhead Assessor Associations for many years.
He is survived by 4 Step Children: Elton (Barbara) Pearson, Prentice, Timothy (Essie) ,Pearson, Orange Park, Fla., Philip (Betsy) Pearson Tuluka, Ill., and John (Sandra) Pearson, Oconto Falls, Wi. By 16 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, and by 1 special niece Charlotte (David) Harmon, Phillips
He was preceded in death by his parents, by his wife Mary Alice by 11 brothers and sisters: Mary Pohlod, Anna Kmetz, Michael Hayda, John Hayda, Emily Hitchens, Susan Monteith, Thomas Hayda, Elizabeth LaRue, Julie Wente, Verna Vojtech and George Hayda, and 1 grandson Daniel Korab.
The funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Wednesday, May 1, 2013, at St. John Lutheran Church, Phillips, with Pastor Thomas Reiff officiating. Interment will be in the Lakeside Cemetery, Phillips. Friends may call from 9:00 A.M. on Wednesday at the church until the time of the service.
