Dessie Ann (Miller) Hoefferle
age 92, passed to her eternal reward, holding hands with her loving husband Norman and grateful daughter Sharon, on May 7, 2013 at Park Manor Nursing Home in Park Falls.
Dessie was the daughter of Henry and Rose (Rieke) Miller, and was born on January 15, 1921 in Falls City, Nebraska. After her father died on June 6, 1926, her mother moved the family of eleven children to Pontiac, Michigan. Dessie received her schooling in Pontiac, having graduated from the Pontiac High School in the class of 1939. Later she was employed at General Motors Truck and Coach Division in the cost Accounting Department. During her employment at General Motors, she met her future husband, Norman Hoefferle, who was also employed in the Cost Department.
Dessie and Norman were married in Pontiac at St. Michael's Church on July 27, 1946 and in August of that year moved to Park Falls, which was the home of her husband Norman, and made Park Falls their permanent home.
Norman and Dessie had six children:
Sharon (Walter) Wasko of Park Falls
Gary (Faith) Hoefferle of Forsyth, Missouri
Janice (Jeffrey) McWilliams of San Antonio, Texas
Susan (Thomas) Lemke of Madison
Patricia (Duane) Frankiewicz of Spooner
Kurt (Carol) Hoefferle of Glen Rock, Pennsylvania
In addition to being a homemaker, Dessie was an avid player and supporter of golf, and was a regular player at Ladies Day at the Park Falls Country Club. For many years Dessie was a member of the Catholic Daughters and Council of Christian Woman, and a member of St. Anthony's Catholic Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers James, George, Henry, Bates, Paul, and twin brother David, sisters: Marvel, Kathryn, and Son Gary. She is survived by her husband Norman, son Kurt, daughters Sharon, Janice, Susan, and Patricia, granddaughters: Dawn, Amanda, and Heather, and grandson Jason, two twin sisters Eunice and Emma, and many nieces, nephews, and great-grandchildren.
Her charming personality and ready smile will be sadly missed by all who knew her.
A Funeral Mass will be held on Monday May 13, 2013 at 11:00am from St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Park Falls. Fr. Edward Anderson and Deacon Chet Ball will co-officiate.
Burial will follow at Nola Cemetery in Park Falls.
A visitation will be held at St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Park Falls on Sunday May 12, 2013 from 6:00pm until 8:00pm with a Rosary at 7:30pm and on Monday from 10:00am until the hour of the service at the church.
