Kerry L. Wanish, 70, U.S. Citizen residing in Siem Reap, Cambodia, died on Saturday, June 8, 2013, at his brother’s home in Catawba. He was born on December 1, 1942, in Ladysmith, the son of John and Mary (Rafko) Wanish. He attended and graduated from Phillips High School, Class of 1960. He then attended and graduated from U.W. Whitewater in 1964 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1964. He taught various subjects in public schools in the U.S. and U.S. Territories, including English and business education he was an accountant and bookkeeper and currently taught English as a second language in Cambodia. In his free time he enjoyed travel, researching the Internet, playing cards, and was an avid Packer and Cubs fan.
He is survived by 1 sister: June (Leonard) Gilbertson, Maiden Rock, Wi., by 1 brother: Daniel Wanish, Catawba, by 1 sister-in-law Laurie Wanish, Catawba. and by several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and by 1 brother Robert Wanish.
There are no services being planned at this time.
A gathering of family and friends may be held at a later date.
