Richard “Dick” Comstock, 76, Woodruff, longtime resident of Kennan, died on Sunday, September 1, 2013, at the Aspirus Pleasant View Nursing Home, Phillips, under the care of Flambeau Home Health Care and Hospice. He was born on June 16, 1937, in Janesville, Wis., the son of Kenneth and Helen Comstock. He spent his early life iand schooling in Janesville. He then attended school in Chicago at the Lane Technical High School. Following his education he was employed in the tool and die trade in the Chicago area. He was married to Sandra “Sandy” Krawczyk on October 13, 1972, in Chicago. They made their home in Kennan in 1977. He started his own business Comstock Gutters in 1977, a business he owned and operated until the time of his retirement in 2008. They made their home in Woodruff at the time of their retirement in 2008. In his free time he enjoyed traveling, fishing, the outdoors and visiting the local casinos.
He is survived by his wife Sandy, Woodruff, by 3 children: Deenah (Lyndon) Stunkel, Kennan, Patrick (Lori) Walsh, Medford and Dawn Clifton, Woodruff., by 7 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren, and by 1 half-sister Vicki McCoy, Lawrenceville, Ind.,
He was preceded in death by his parents, by 1 brother Dale and by 1 grandson Dustin Beier.
A memorial service will be held at 4:00 P.M. on Saturday, September 7, 2013, at Bethany Lutheran Church, Catawba, with Pastor Jody Becker officiating. Inurnment will be in the Kennan Cemetery, Kennan. Friends may call at the church on Saturday, Sept. 7, 2013
