Michael Ray Olson, 49, Fitchburg, formerly of Park Falls
Michael Ray Olson, 49, Fitchburg, Wisconsin, died on Monday, September 9, 2013, at his home in Fitchburg. He was born on March 27, 1964, in Park Falls, Wisconsin, the son of Marie and Donald Olson. He was a 1982 graduate of the Phillips High School, and attended the University of Wisconsin-Platteville where he majored in Industrial Technology. He was married to Mary Allison Sibley on November 11, 2011, in Park Falls, WI. He was employed in the food service industry where he managed the restaurant at the Prentice Travel Center, then was employed as the manager of Jerry’s Restaurant in Louisville, KY, for 10 years. He then returned to Price County and was employed by Flambeau Lanes of Park Falls for over 15 years. He made his home in Fitchburg in 2012 due to ill health, tobe near to medical facilities. He attended St. John Lutheran Church in Phillips and was a member of the American Bowling Congress. In his free time he enjoyed water parks, watching sports, especially the Brewers and the Badgers, and golfing with his dad.
He is survived by his wife, Allison; by one step-daughter, Savannah Sibley, Union, South Carolina; his parents, Marie and Donald Olson, Phillips; by one brother, Patrick (Gerri), Hawkins; by one sister, Wendy (Marlin) Muhe, Bryan, OH; by one nephew, Caleb Muhe; and by two nieces, Malia Polacek and Marlena Derr. He is preceded in death by his grandparents.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Friday, September 13, at Saint John Lutheran in Phillips with Rev. Thomas Reiff officiating. Friends may call at Saint John Lutheran Church in Phillips after 6:00 P.M. on Thursday, September 12, and on Friday from 9:30 A.M. until the time of services.
