Elizabeth M. Stanke, 84, Town of Elk, Phillips, died at her home on Friday, October 4. She was born in the Town of Worcester on September 20, 1929, the daughter of Phillip and Victoria (Kubus) Solecki. She was married to William Stanke in Phillips on October 23, 1946. She was a member of St. John Lutheran Church of Phillips, and of the St. John Women’s Auxiliary. She was a dedicated caregiver of her daughter Gloria, and in her free time she enjoyed reading, the outdoors, feeding the birds, and spending time with her family. She is survived by six children, William “Bill” ((Patti), Phillips, David (Donna), Dorchester, WI, Gloria, Phillips, Tom, Wausau, Terry (Pat), Phillips, and Catherine, Cold Spring, New York; by 12 grandchildren, and by 15 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, William, on December 15, 2007; by one brother, Leo Solecki; and by three sisters, Millie Dorish, Anne Sanson, and Mary Kurdziel.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Thursday, October 10, at Saint John Lutheran Church in Phillips with Reverend Thomas Reiff officiating. Interment will be in the Emery Cemetery in the Town of Emery. Friends may call at the church on Thursday from 10:00 A.M. until the time of services.
