Robert Eugene Billstine, 79, Prentice, died in the Memorial Health Center in Medford on Tuesday, October 8, 2013. He was born on October 16, 1933, in Prentice, the son of Olaf and Marvel (Larson) Billstine. He was a 1951 graduate of the Prentice High School. He was married to Helen Sander in September of 1956 in Waukegan, Illinois. He served his country during the Korean War in the United States Marine Corps. In his working career he was employed by American Motors in Milwaukee, by Prentice Hydraulics and then Omark Industries in Prentice, operated the Prentice Dairy, the Prentice Café, and drove school bus for many years. He was a member of the Southern Price County VFW Post No. 8491, and served as an early President of the Prentice Bushbenders Snowmobile Club. In his free time he enjoyed fishing, hunting, and golf. He is survived by his wife, Helen; by three children, James (Barbara), Netarts, OR, Deborah (John) Tinkham, Granite Falls, WA, and Laura J. Wilhelm, Rib Lake, WI; by 7 grandchildren and by 6 great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by two sisters, Beatrice Rundquist and Grace Schroeder; and by two brothers, Vernon and Charles.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
