Donna M. Chizek, Town of Prentice, died on 11/12/13 at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Marshfield, WI. Donna was born January 25, 1930 to Albin and Marie Grant in Lugerville, WI. On May 28, 1950 Donna married Joseph Chizek Jr. in Beloit, WI where they made their home and started their family. In 1966 Joe and Donna moved to the Town of Prentice.
Donna was a wife and homemaker who raised seven children with her husband Joe. She was an avid bow and gun hunter with an appreciation for the great outdoors. Over the years she harvested 13 bear and numerous deer, too many to count, with bow, rifle and muzzle loader. Archery was her favorite and in the mid 70’s she won the WI State Archery Shoot winning her a free bear hunt in Colorado. Donna took great pride in her yard and spent many calming hours tending to it. Her home displayed numerous items that were acquired through other hobbies such as auctions, garage and estate sales or rummaging around on rock piles with friends, and another joy of Donna's were her lap dog companions. She was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church of Prentice and the Southern Price County VFW Auxiliary Post No. 8491 for years.
Donna is survived by her seven children: Joseph III and (Mary Hoogland), Prentice, WI; Debra Swenson (Michael Seubert),Ogema, WI; Linda Chizek, Merrill, WI; Judith Chizek, Phillips, WI; Lee and (Betsy Gassoway), Natick, MA; Kenneth, Prentice, WI and Loren and (Belinda Hill) Brantwood, WI. She is also survived by her four siblings: Alvin and Anna Mae (Tarcon) Grant, Lois and William Miller, Betty and Ronnie Knutson and Carole Pritzl. Donna has 14 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Saturday, November 16, at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Prentice wwith Pastor Gary Uttech officiating. Interment will be in the Prentice Cemetery in Prentice. Friends may call at the church on Saturday from 1:00 P.M. until the time of services.
