Barbara W. Johnson, 69, Phillips, Town of Flambeau, died February 13, 2014 at Aspirus Pleasant View Nursing Home in Phillips.
She was born on November 28, 1944 in Phillips, the daughter of William and Josephine (Budwitas) Donovan. She was a 1962 graduate of Phillips High School. She was married to Donald O. Johnson on February 12, 1972. Barb was a wonderful mother and a friend to all. She was a strong believer in Jesus and was very ecumenical in her practice of faith. Barb had the kindest of hearts and was always there to greet everyone with a smile. Her beautiful blue eyes would light up when she talked to you and she would talk to everyone as if they were her best friend. Whether you were the smallest of creatures or the largest of the human race, Barb always treated everyone and everything with respect.
She is survived by two sons, William Johnson (Beth Probyn), Adams and Michael (Sandra) Johnson, Phillips; by four grandchildren, Annikka, Walker, Lilly and Olivia; by one brother, Russell (Jeanne) Donovan, Sheboygan; by nieces, nephews and many friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents and by her husband.
The funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on February 19, 2014 at the Word of Life Family Church in Phillips with Pastor Terry Sellers and Pastor Thomas Reiff officiating. Friends may call at the church from 9:30 a.m. until the time of services. Interment will be at Lakeside Cemetery, Phillips in the spring.
