Annabelle Eitel, 93, died Wednesday, February 12, at Pleasant View Nursing Home in Phillips, WI with her family by her side.
Annabelle was born March 3, 1920 in Gilead, IN.
In 1943, Annabelle moved with her husband, John I. Eitel, to the Homestead in Emery, WI. In 1946, Annabelle relocated with her family to own and operate Big Elk Resort until they retired to Fifield, WI in 1977. Annabelle was a local 4-H leader, a member of the Wisconsin and National Chapters of the Society of Mayflower Descendants as well as Daughters of the American Revolution.
Annabelle is survived by her five daughters: Connie (John) Heizler of Winter, WI, Nona Hataj of Edgerton, WI, Marcia Benson of Heyden, ID, Barbara Esterholm of Pretice, WI and Cheryl (Kim) Beres of Dillon, CO; two sons: Roger (Martha) of Athol, ID and Clifford (Debra) of Fifield, WI; 17 grandchildren; 44 great grandchildren; and 21 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband John; sister Helen King; parents; son Dennis; son-in-law Richard Hataj; son-in-law Rupert Benson; and great granddaughter Michelle Schwartz.
She will be interred at Emery Cemetary in Phillips, WI
