Anna M. Schancer, 98, longtime Township of Georgetown resident, died on Wednesday, June 4, 2014, at the Aspirus Pleasant View Nursing Home, Phillips, under the care of her family and the Flambeau Home Health Care and Hospice. She was born on October 4, 195, in Ogema, the daughter of Adolph and Alvina (Tesch) Erdman. She spent her early life and schooling in Price County. She attended and graduated from Ogema High School, and then went on to graduate from Price County Normal with a teaching certificate. She was married to Clement Schancer. June 1, 1940. in Kennan .He preceded her in death on Jan. 5, 2001.
She taught school at Forest Vale and Johnston School.
She was a member of the United Methodist Church, Kennan for many years. In her free time she was a quilter, an avid Packer Fan (and owner of 1 share of the Packers organization) and a Jumbles Word Puzzle solver
She is survived by her children: Lois (Robert) Vojtech, Blaine, Mn., Lyndon (Agnes) Schancer, Hawkins, Alan (Teresa) Schancer, Hayward, Wi., John (Sue) Schancer, Kennan, and Alice (Tom) Balsis, Phillips, by 8 grandchildren, 9 great grandchilkdren, by 1 sister Emma Johns, Merrill, Wi. and by 1 sister-in-law Eileen Erdman, Ogema.
She was preceded in death by her parents, by her husband Clement, by 3 sisters: Erna Nelson, Elsie Toon, and Alice Campbell, and by brothers: Verner Erdman and Albert Erdman.
A private family memorial service is being planned for a later date.
Memorials are preferred to Hospice Care.
