Much like the Beach Boys 1960's hit.........it was fun, fun, fun at the Park Falls Rec Arena last night as our Team S.e.a.l. Hockey team advanced to Eau Claire for the next round of the state hockey tourmament. They edged Marshfield 3-2. Now I'm NOT a hockey guy, but the excitement on the ice, and in the packed stands last night was awesome. Down 2-1 entering the 3rd, and last period, we (I'm fast to jump on the bandwagon!!) score 2 goals and win 3-2!! These kids are great athletes, and can really skate. Both teams played their hearts out, and I've gotta believe the electricity in the stands helped decide the outcome for the home team. This was my very 1st high school hockey game, and won't be my last. That may be the best $4 I've ever spent !!!!
By the news that pop celebrity, Whitney Houston, has died over the weekend. She joins a l-o-n-g list of celebrities who have it all, & somehow find a way to lose it all, in a hurry. Houston, who was found dead of an apparent alcohol/drug mix was 48. 48!!!! Way too young to die. Just shows everyone, once again...Money, Fame & Fortune do not always work for some. A tragedy, yes. A surprise......No
After 2 weeks of vacation in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, it's great to be back. This, by far was my best vacation ever. Accapolco, Puerta Vallerta, and Cancun were all very nice the past 3 years, however, Cabo is heads & tails above the rest. Ocean front rooms made for some great sunrises and whale watching. Put this together with 78- 84 degree temps daily and 9 days of the 14 with NO cloud, and it's a no brainer!!! We took a whale watching tour, did snorkeling, horseback riding, a trip to Totos Santos,(where the song Hotel California was written about), a lot of "pooling" in our 5 resort pools, and walking miles along the Sea of Cortez beach. And that doesn't include all the fun resort activities like blackjack, Mexican bingo and the bartenders lessons. All these activities took place at the heated swim-up (adults only)bar. Cabo is HUGE...with tons of shopping, eating and of course tequila drinks. It's geared mostly for the 21-31 age group, but myself and Nancy fit in pretty well. Great fun. If you ever have the chance, I highly recommend visiting Cabo and the San Jose Del Cabo area.
NOW...it's back to the grind, which isn't too bad. In fact, I'm kind of happy to be back. Seriously!!!

ITS OVER :( by Rick Frischman, posted Jan 16 2012 10:35AM
Wow, I never expected that!!! A great 15-1 season gone in the blink of an eye. The Packers proved it doesn't matter what you did in the regular season, the opposion is after you. Turnovers, a poor defense, dropped passes all were part of the Packers death. Heck, we even got help from the refs a couple times and couldn't take advantage!! Pretty poor. Blame falls on everyone, from the head coach to the water boy. Well, it's officially baseball season.....GO BREWERS!!
I need to releive some stress. Friday, I'll be heading to Mexico for a couple weeks. Hope they have a cold Margarita waitin' for me.
